This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Good printer---customer support has pros and cons
I received this printer on January 22 and got it set up successfully last night (January 28). It is too early for me to comment on the print quality. What I have seen looks fine but I have only printed 4 pages so far and have not yet tried the duplex option.

I am writing this review to comment on HP's customer support, since an earlier reviewer had a totally negative experience. Some of my dealings with the customer support system were good and some were bad.

I received the printer on a Thursday while I was at work. I couldn't get to it until Saturday. Then I unpacked the printer and removed all the protective tape, etc. When I turned it on it stopped immediately after the memory check with an error message "Inflate failure. Download RFU file now. Download RFU on USB port" or something close to that. I knew I was in trouble. I went on line and found the latest firmware update (RFU = remote firmware update) and downloaded it to my Mac. But I couldn't figure out...

2. Great Business Printer for Top Class, Color Printing.
This is truly a wonderful product for a small to mid-sized business. It is quick, and prints beautiful pamphlets, newsletters, etc. in color. I cannot tell the difference between these prints and prints from a professional print shop... It also does card stock which lower end printers will not do well. It is a good sized printer and is heavy, but does a great job for in house printing. The cost per page on black and white is about 2.5 cents a page and in color it is about 14 cents a page which is much better than other lower end products. If you print more than 2,500 color pages a month, you'll save the costs of a lower end, $400 printer in less than 4 months. It does double sided printing well too.

A Good Product Saddled by Poor Customer Service
Let me begin by stating that I am a long term HP user. My first HP laser printer was the HP LaserJet II+ - a printer that was over-built and virtually indestructible. I have tended to buy replacement printers that are HP. Unfortunately, the experiences with this printer have turned me off of HP products. This printer was purchased on September 25 2009. The reason that it was purchased could be found in the specifications - high speed, color, and duplex. Plus, it could work in a work environment consisting of both Windows and Macs (my home office). Upon delivery, setup was relatively painless. BTW, if you are using this printer as a network printer, you will find the amount of control and information given you when you enter the Printer's IP as amazing. I have a Xerox and its home page gives you about half of the information. Initially, the printer worked well. Then the problems began. The Magenta color was no longer being transferred. I searched the HP site for...

HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP4525n Printer - Black/Silver (CC493A)

Cheap HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP4525n Printer - Black/Silver (CC493A)

HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP4525n Printer
  • 500-sheet output bin
  • 512 MB total memory and an 800 MHz processor quickly handle complex print jobs
  • 100-sheet multipurpose tray 1 and 500-sheet input tray 2 that total 600 pages

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Won't owe you a thing...
I have a 20 year old LJ III, always just worked, File/Print and the pages came. Still works today.

Bought an Epson R1800 for color and bought nothing but problems, drinks ink, test pages every few days, 50/50 chance the page would even be useful, then one day the ink stopped flowing mid-print and nothing but white paper since. Cost to fix was hundreds of dollars. Life cycle cost per print probably ended up in the tens of dollars. File/Print and pray, every time. Epson? Never, ever, again.

So, back to HP and their new CP4525. Why not, buy a set of toner and HP will give you the little brother CP4520 is just about for free. A few dollars more and you get the faster CP4525 engine. Cost per page is built into the toner alone. Buy 2, just to get a second set of toner cartridges AND end up with a spare printer (Fuser alone costs $250). Soon enough you'll likely be able to dump compatible toner into those carts. Also, no need to worry about "chips", the diagnostic menu...

2. Just another Great printer
This is a great printer.

On a Mac, to get good colors, you need to choose the color profile in the printer instead of using one of the ones Mac offers.

Good
Like most affordable HP printers, this is kind of cheaply constructed, but in any case is the norm unless you're willing to pay a few thousand more. No major pluses or minuses. Drivers work with Windows 7 x64 and print speed is, as expected, pretty fast. Decent printer.

  • 35.70 Lbs (WxLxH) 16.00" x 16.70" x 12.00"

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Excellent value
This printer warms up more slowly than my old Laserjet 5000 but, having warmed up, prints more than twice as fast--and much, much faster when duplexing. The duplexing technology is far superior to the old added-tray system, which jammed too often (after several thousand copies, I've had no jams in the P3005d duplexer). The image quality is excellent (better for graphics than my $9,000. Toshiba), and it has various fuser settings for different kinds of media. Printing labels and index are no problem. About the only criticisms I have are: the tendency of the copies to curl, regardless of the paper used (but this is a problem common to all laser printers I have used); the menu display is a bit cumbersome and hard to read in some lighting conditions--I wish they would use dedicated buttons and a larger display window for setting such functions as print density. The menu settings for printing custom-size sheets in the proper orientation are tricky and confusing.

2. A Real Workhorse
This is an awesome printer! Have had it for years and it has been flawless in its performance. I had HP printers prior to this that also worked perfectly for years, some for more than a decade. This is big, and heavy. I like that because it means it has some meat to it, unlike the majority of printers today that are so light they just seem to have nothing inside. The only reason I'm writing a review now is because I just bought a new computer which didn't have the old printer output connection that I was using on the old computer. I thought I was going to have to get a new printer, but when I was searching Amazon for one I saw that they were still selling this printer, and noticed in the specs that it had a USB connector. I used that and it works as well as always, without that huge printer cable that I had been using. Reliable and indestructible. I also get about 10 times the number of pages from a printer cartridge than what the cartridge says I will get, although I only use the HP...

Great, fast printer
After several attempts at purchasing less expensive home printers that were absurdly slow, loud and/or shaky, ineffective, or just didn't work at all, I finally gave in and bought this printer, which is the same HP model used at my office. I have to print 60+ page documents on a regular basis and the P3005D does so very quickly and reliably. It prints quietly, holds a large supply of blank paper, and is compact enough not to require a desk of its own. While I didn't want to spend this much for a home printer, I've found this one to be well worth the cost. Plus, I'm saving on paper -- I had fish out about three crumbled, torn, and misfed sheets for every one printed on the HP Officejet J4680c I was previously using.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great MFP
We have two of these and the end users are saying best IT purchase that I've made.
I've have no trouble out of them and are easy for the end user to figure out. The large touch panel works really well (looks like HP found a use for their unsold tablets, lol)

2. PCRush is the worst vendor that I have ever had to deal with.
This vendor shipped me a product that didn't match the description that then would not replace it for the correct model #. Then when you have an issue, you cannot talk to a person. All communication is through email and you get a standard response to every reply that states their policy and basically that they can't help you without charging you additional money.

I would warn anyone about purchasing anything from this vendor.

HP Laserjet Enterprise 600 M601DN

Deals for HP Laserjet Enterprise 600 M601DN

HP's business pacesetter tackles high-volume printing with legendary reliability. Count on this HP LaserJet to help conserve resources, customize printing policies, and improve security
  • Print at rapid speeds on a variety of paper types
  • Manage workflow with intuitive features right on the printer, and get quick prints from a flash drive
  • Produce high print volumes with low maintenance

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great printer, just a few unknown restrictions
I really have nothing bad to say about this printer. It's fast, it works well, it handles a lot of paper. The only problems I've had relate to restrictions on paper handling that I didn't know about. For instance, the envelope feeder isn't a tray - it takes the place (more or less) of the manual input tray. Also, you can only attach a single 1500-page input tray to this printer - it can't handle more than one. Finally, HP ePrint only accepts PDF's up to 5 MB. Most of what I receive and need to print quickly is over that, so it's a bit of a pointless option for me (and it's an unnecessary restriction).

Overall I'm still very happy with the printer, just doesn't quite reach 5 star's.

2. Nice workgroup printer
This was simple to setup on the network and add as a printer to the domain server and workstations. Prints fast. So far it is working like a charm. Would buy again.

This Inkjet Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Good little printer with some caveats
The HP Officejet 7110 Wide Format ePrinter seems to be well-made and sleek looking. There are some caveats to owning this printer though. In order to use the ePrint feature you will have to register with HP offering an email address. You will then use the email address to email documents for printing using HP's cloud service. According to HP's information, the emailed material will be removed from their cloud service once the document has been printed.

Another caveat is the insertion of a memory chip "that assists in the operation of the HP printer and stores a limited set of anonymous information about the usage of the printer. This information might be used to improve future HP printers..."

Listed below are some of the tech specs courtesy of the HP website:

Print speed up to 33 per minute in draft mode (black ink)

Print speed up to 29 pages per minute in draft mode (color ink)

Recommended monthly page volume 200 to 800...

2. Impressive!
When I first saw this printer, I was immediately impressed. Just think, 13"x19". Not your ordinary "tabloid size" (11"x17") printer but a mighty 13"x19" size. One could print (for example) four 6"x9" pages with "bleeds". Really professional! As a retired graphic designer, I thought, this would be an ideal printer for a small graphic design studio. Then I thought about my daughter that is into "crafting". How nice this would be for a crafter! I was concerned about the amount of space this beauty would occupy since my computer room is nearly full now and that's when I spotted the wireless feature. Perfect! I can put it across the room. However, I opted to connect the printer via USB cable that was already in place about 18 feet away. There was no problem with this connection. As usual, there is no cable supplied with the printer. For this wireless printer, I expect that most users would choose a wireless connection. Setup goes very quickly using the supplied cd.

And then, I...

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. HP Color LaserJet CP5525DN
Printer was a breeze to set up and produces high quality color and b&w prints. Much faster than our old color printer.

Pros:
+speed
+print quality
+automatic detection of paper type (card stock vs. plain paper, etc) and automatically adjusts print speed to ensure proper toner fusing
+easy setup
+easy networking

Cons:
-toner cost. To be fair, each cartridge handles a lot of pages, but it is a high upfront cost to purchase a full set of cartridges

2. EXCELLENT PRODUCT
The HP CP5525 Laserjet Printer is everything I expected and I was excited about receiving this item on time from the Nerds Company. I am looking forward to enjoying what this printer can do. I am a big fan of HP Printers and I would recommend this product to everyone.

  • 10,000 pages per month duty cycle; 250-sheet input tray
  • Parallel port, USB 2.0, and Ethernet interface; PC and Mac compatible

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Wow I'm pleased!
As always, here's my honest review with some background.

I've been looking for a good laser printer that I could have on my network for a while now. I have a small office and am an aspiring teacher (currently student teaching). When I can't get to the copy machine at school, I wanted something I could use to do some "mass printouts" for my students. I had an old NEC Superscript, but it frequently paused between pages for a breather and was generally slow.

If you don't need the network card (print server) built into this printer, then the 1320 (not 1320n) would be an amazing value! For me, I wanted the networking, so I was willing to spend the extra money. Setup was relatively simple, changing the IP address was easy, and I was up and running, printing from my Windows XP machines AND my MacOS X (10.3.7) machines.

Now for the printer itself. I'm very impressed with the build quality. Printers have been turning into plastic junk lately, but this...

2. A year in use--still going strong
One-year update (11/2005):
I would now give this printer 5 stars, as my original concerns (below) were superficial/cosmetic issues. The printer has performed wonderfully over the past year, no issues or breakdowns. Toner life has been well beyond my expectations, lasting just over a year of use. (I typically print a lot of academic, text-focused articles. Graphic-heavy works might use toner more quickly.) Printer speed is great, and even pretty decent using the 2-sided mode.

At this point, my only complaint is that the manual feed 'slot' isn't a 'tray'--thus requiring a bit of attention when using. Regardless, I can recommend this printer for home or small-office users who want fast, black and white printing.

----------

I recently purchased this printer to make printing over my home network easier. Functionally, the printer warms up quickly, text is clear, and it comes installed with some nice fonts one doesn't normally find standard in Windows,...

Works great on a network with Macs and PCs
I have both Macintosh (OSX) and PC (Windows XP) computers on my home network. So I wanted a network printer so that I would not have to directly connect the printer to any one machine.

A single driver CD-ROM is included with this product. You must load the drivers onto both the Mac and PC. The SAME CD-ROM works with both. Once the HP driver is installed the machines can communicate directly with the printer.

The print quality seems fine, both with graphics and text. Being able to print on both sides of the paper is a really handy feature, and saves paper. The double sided printing is all automatic to the printer. No more printing odd/even pages and flipping!

Laser printers have a few advantages over Ink Jet printers. If you print mostly black/white text/graphics like I do, you will find your print speeds faster with a laser printer. You will also find lower print costs than Ink Jet. Further, toner has a longer shelf life than Ink cartages, since toner...

Horrible quality - Lasted 6 weeks! [SEE UPDATE]
Not what you'd expect from HP's flagship model aimed at the enterprise, but it lasted exactly 6 weeks. After that, the LCD display went totally blank and it stopped responding to any network communications. HP sent a replacement circuit board -- the first one arrived snapped in half; the second arrived intact, although it is packaged so poorly that some of the prongs of the contacts on the board were actually stuck in the cover of the cardboard box. It certainly does not look like HP cares about quality at this point, so I am going to look for another brand.

Update 3/2013: We decided to hang on to the printer to see how it performed. We had to unbend the pins in order to fit the replacement board into the printer. However, since then, the printer has been a workhorse. No problems at all, high quality prints. I am revising my review from 1 star to 3 stars.

HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225dn Printer

Cheapest HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225dn Printer

HP COLOR LASERJET PROFESSIONAL CP5225DN PRINTER--PRODUCT OF CHINA
  • Sold Individually as 1 Each
  • Automatic two-sided printing.
  • High-quality image resolution technology.
  • In-line one-pass print engine.
  • Prints standard and oversized documents.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Works great, bit spendy
This is a great color laser jet print for a small office environment. I ordered this to replace an aging wide format HP BusinessJet inket printer which was having jaming issues. We have had no problems with this printer since it arrived. The version printer of the printer that I ordered only has a single paper tray (aside form the manual feed tray) which will fit multiple sizes up to 11"x17". The original plan was to use the internal tray for 11x17 and use the manual feed to hold a stack of 8.5x11. After a few days it was clear that a second tray would be a wzie investment so that the manual feed tray was not open all of the time.

Pros: Workhorse, Dependable, HP business class reliability (don't confuse with consumer class reliability).
Cons: Size (its big), Price (kinda high, especially after adding the second tray).

2. HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225dn Printer Performs Great!
My company has been using a big corporate color copier on lease with the full finishing attachment and it was great while it lasted! But, unfortunately due to the economy, we have terminated the lease and moved on to printing more economically.

Enter the HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225dn Printer. This printer does not have all the bells and whistles of a fully automated color copier, but it does print a great tabloid (11" x 17") sized paper with automatic duplexing. Thus, we are not hindered by the lack of Finisher but are realizing the economic saving of not paying a monthly lease.

We print our newsletters and flyer for direct mailing, utilizing the duplex tabloid printing with great color. Yes, we fold and staple by hand, but it is a minor inconvenience to the personnel.

I would recommend to everyone that if you want a simple duplex + letter or tabloid printing + great color + color laser resolution, then this printer is for you...

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Compared to 4014n
I reviewed the related product, the HP P4014n LaserJet Printer. See my customer review there, which is a very similar product, where I posted a very favorable review.

The only real differences between the two printers are the front panel and a small difference in print speed. The 4015n has a front panel that can be used to enter a passcode to print out jobs that the user doesn't want anyone else to see or pick up accidentally. The 4015n is also slightly faster, at 52 ppm compared to the 4014n ant 45 ppm. In a big office where people are picking up the wrong printouts I could see the need, but I didn't see a reason in my small office to pay the $200 premium for 4015n. I have been very happy with the 4014n.

2. No driver for Windows 7 64-bit
This printer performs very well for everything except Windows 7, 64-bit, for which there is no driver. HP has their Universal Driver, but it does not work. The printer is installed in a Dentist's office. If we use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 Pro, it works fine, as the drivers exist for XP. We also find that this printer is quite loud: when it kicks on, it's the loudest thing in the office. It prints fast and in very high quality, we're just disappointed we can't get it to work for all of the new systems we install.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. 6 years later and still going strong
I bought this printer new in 2005. 6 yrs later, in 2011, this printer hasn't given me a single problem. Not. One. Problem. It's still as fast as it was the day I bought it. It can spit out thousand page jobs without a single hiccup.

If everything worked as well as this printer, cars would get 200 mpg and never need to be replaced!

I also like the HP web interface for checking and administering the printer on my local ethernet network. Installing network printer drivers on multiple networked computers is as easy as could be.

As perfect a printer as I've ever used. I expect this printer will keep going for another 7 years at least.

2. Reliable, low-maintenance
I've installed a dozen of these printers on our office network beginning about 3 years ago. All are still up and running. Low maintenance workhorses, all I've had to do is purchase more toner cartridges as needed. Compared to our old Xerox printers, these are a dream come true. No fusers, transfer kits, main charge grids, or imaging units to replace. Easy to follow configuration and help screens makes it simple to set up as stand-alones or on a network. I've tried a couple of "lighter-duty" HP laser printers and found the 4250n to be a better machine and well worth the extra money in the long run.

Fast, Darned Fast
I am used to faster network printers in the 30ppm range (which makes home printers seem slow). Then, this thing spits out at 45ppm. It seems like ours does 60ppm because it prints a page per second (maybe because they are not full pages of text). Wow. Of course, the expected HP quality and reliability.

1. Nice MFP color laser printer
I did not buy this printer from amazon. I got one from local OfficeMax for $449.95. Great deal. I had a MFP Brother laser printer for 6 years. It has been serving me well. But it is a black and white printer. I thought I could wait for couple more years for the color printers to mature enough with real life quality and their prices to come down, but lately I have often found myself in the need to print color printout for my son school work. So I went shopping. I had decided to buy one made by Brother. But eventually I settled on this one after comparing them.

First off, it is a great looking printer. Good quality looking. A bit heavy though. With high memory size, good for a small office use. The print out quality is great, even better than the one in my work place, which is an enterprise edition. I did not really expect to see such high color quality - very sharp and no distortion. I tried it with some of my high resolution photos taken with my Canon EOS D20 Digital...

2. Great Printer
Good printer for home office. Really like the easy setup and that the scanner has TWAIN drivers and will scan directly into the PDF filer software I use. The print speed is not the fastest timed it on 55 pages of letter size text from the time I clicked print till completed was 5 minutes 22 sec this included the time it took to clean. Just printed a 160 pages it stopped to clean several times. Have used it for a month and had no issues. Really like the Air-print option works great from my ipad. This model doesn't have duplexing if having to turn pages over by hand bothers you better go with the 475.

  • USB and parallel connectivity, optional networking
  • Versatile paper handling with 600-sheet standard input capacity
  • PC and Mac compatible; 1-year warranty

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Fast, but Buggy
This printer has a great price, good specs, and fast printing. However, it does have some issues that hopefully HP will work-out.

The firmware seems pretty buggy. We've had several different problems with the printer crashing. Every couple days or so we get a "Service Error" message on the screen and the printer has to be rebooted. Also, I tried printing a large (1000 page) pdf on it and it would just freeze after printing around 140 pages. It froze twice on the exact same number of pages. I had to break it up into print jobs of 100 pages each. We've also seen where it gets in an infinite cycle where it says, "Processing Job" and the data light blinks, but nothing ever comes out. Again, it requires a reboot. We upgraded the firmware, but the problems didn't go away.

FYI, a parallel port doesn't seem to deliver data fast enough to this printer! It consumes data faster than the port can send it. We could only achieve the 45ppm when we hooked it up to the...

2. Speed and quality
This printer is ridiculously fast. We use one as a network printer and I have not been able to walk the 30 feet from my office to the printer before it has finished printing 3 or 4 page PDFs, emails, etc. This printer is faster than our photocopier. 1200x1200 dpi gives excellent detail.

Great printer
We have had one of these printers now for more than a year and have yet to have the first problem with it. It prints fast and even at lower resolutions the print quality is still excellent. I am currently getting ready to purchase another one.

So far we have had no problems with this printer and hope that it stays that way. Ii would gladly recommend it to others.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great for a few days, then lost wireless set up and couldn't reconnect
This was relatively easy to set up, right up to the time it lost the wireless set up. I went into the set up panel in the printer and entered a wrong pass word. I went into the setup panel again, which is very nice and easy to use (after retrieving the correct password), and it could no longer see any wireless networks, which I verified were working in the room with the printer. Yes, powered printer and router off and on in the correct order. It would search forever and not find anything, hang the printer (yes it has some processor and display power) and then turn itself off. HP Live chat found out I am largely a mac shop and said they didn't support macs, it was another email only service at HP. I told them the wireless router that it use to connect to and no longer did was NOT A MAC and mac was not the issue. Logic did now win the day with HP support. So I'll configure this wired into a switch, which is what they suggested. I'll keep you all posted, but wanted to let...

2. Great multifunction postscript printer
I was looking for a decent all-in-one for my small design studio. This one fits the bill. The ink is the most affordable I've seen for a printer like this. Pages print quickly from both my Macpro and PC (which is an HP). I've use the HP ePrint feature to email pdfs to the printer which works well.

In order to find an inkjet with affordable ink that was also a postscript printer I had to give up a manual feed tray (for the few times I need to print on custom paper, it works for me). Also, when the printer is plugged into a wired network, It seems to lose it's wireless ability. I overcome this by using HP ePrint.

Most of the time, I'm using printouts internally, but they would be fine for client meetings as well. The printer was easy to set up and I'm still using the factory-installed ink cartridges that came with it.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great Printer
I love this printer for my office. I replaced two CP2025 models and my only regret is that I did not do it sooner. It is much faster, better quality, and much less money on a cost per page basis. On top of that, the printer comes with 4 cartridges which retail for over $800 when bought separately. I may buy more of these printers just so I can get the cartridges. I just changes the first cartridge, the black one that came with the machine, after about 10,000 pages of printing. I will definitely buy this product again and strongly recommend it.

2. Great printer
Fast efficient and cost effective. It is a little larger and heavy, if you have the counter space no problem

  • Built in Ethernet/Fast Ethernet Networking
  • 150 Sheet Output Bin
  • Print Speed Up to 30 ppm and Up to 600 by 600 dpi
  • Hi Speed USB 2.0 Port and Security Device Slot

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great printer
This is a great little printer. First page out in 7-8 seconds, and after that a page every two seconds. It is loud, but only while printing. After that a fan runs for about 30 seconds and then shuts down (I returned a Brother 2170 because the fan would run for 15-30 minutes after printing a single page). Installation was a snap. The printer also comes with a regular toner cartridge rather than a "starter" cartridge. Highly recommended.

2. Yo, it has a quiet mode setting!
I bought this printer to replace the only printer I've ever owned - my HP Laserjet 4L, which I bought 15 years ago next month. I am still in deep mourning, and I would not have replaced it even now except that I was getting tired of not being able to print legible Mapquest and Google maps. So of course I stuck with HP. Major product loyalty here. Every office I've ever worked in has primarily used HPs because we regretted it if we strayed too far from the mother ship.

I've had this for about six weeks now, and I like it just fine. It was easy to set up and the print quality is excellent (which, after all, is the big enchilada). It will also manually duplex, which is a feature I wanted this time and caused me to eliminate some other printers from the competition. The footprint is actually about the same as my lil' 4L's, but it's so much taller it looks gigantic, which is a drawback. I had read the reviews here before purchasing, many of which comment on how noisy it is...

Printer Cartridges Only Last One Month and Are Expensive
I have used various HP printers in my law office for over twenty years, and until now I was always satisfied. I bought this P2035N on 8/9/2010 because of its speed, and it is quick.

The major (and unforgivable) drawback is the cost and lifespan of the consumable ink cartridge (the P2035N only uses the HP 05A cartridge, and NOT the HP 05X high capacity cartridge). The HP 05A cartridge costs about $90, and is rated at 2,300 pages (about 4 cents per page). The first new cartridge lasted thirty days. The second one only lasted twenty days. The HP 05X (high capacity) cartridge costs about $165 and is rated at 6,500 pages (2.5 cents per page); however, the P2035N printer cannot use the 05X cartridge.

By comparison, my former HP P2015d printer could use the HP 53X (extended use) cartridge (costs $165, rated at 7,000 pages), which means that it costs about 2.4 cents per page, and it would last me about 3 months. Even the HP 53A cartridge (costs $90, rated at 3,000...

1. Best printer ever - Buy it today
I don't write a lot of reviews but thought I needed to write a review of this printer. I bought this printer because I needed to print a lot of training manuals for a class that I was doing. I looked into having a printing shop print the books but they wanted to charge me almost $6,000 to print everything. I decided that I could buy a printer and the materials and have my kids do the work for a lot less. I started looking around for printers and this seemed like the right mix of speed and duty rating. I bought the printer and materials and in the end it worked out great. I printed and spiral bound around 800 manuals over a 3 week period. I used 30,000 sheets of paper and 12 black ink cartridges. I printed everything in back and white, but there was a lot of graphics so the print coverage was not great, but I expected that. In the end I spent about $3,000 for the printer and materials and gave $1,000 to the kids for doing the work. I now have a great printer and other...

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Excellent SOHO Printer
I bought this HP M475dn all-in-one printer/copier/scanner/fax directly from HP after doing some, but not an exhaustive research. If you are looking for an all-in-one, there are several available options by Dell, Canon, Epson, Brother, OKI, and even by HP. However, most of these printers on the market are much cheaper and do not belong to this class. The difference is better construction quality and built for a much higher duty-cycle using high yield cartridges (more on this later). I looked at two additional printers in this class- Brother MFC-9970 CDW that did not measure up in quality of output, and Dell 2155cn which is a close contender. Dell's print quality is good, but my bad experience with my old Dell's continuous toner demand made me choose HP.

There are several variations of this printer- M375nw (economical option if you want wireless but do not care for duplex), M475dn (the one reviewed which has duplex and network), and M475dw (slightly more expensive if you...

2. HP Got it Right this time
This is a great printer for the home office. It does everything I need it to do including double sided scanning and printing. The color is excellent and the detail of the print is 10 times better than my old office jet printer. I could care less about the fax because e-mail coverers that requirement besides who uses a fax anymore. The set up was one of the easiest applications I have ever installed. Just follow the instructions on the initial set up page by typing in the URL in your browser and you will be off and running in no time. Setup took about 15 minutes and that included a break to get another cup of tea. One bit of caution; be sure to following the unpacking instructions to get all the packing blocks out. I got mine okay but it could be easy to miss one by looking at the vague unpacking pictures.

Works well, printing in black and white only requires extra steps
This printer while it prints kind of slow works well for us. We haven't had any issues with scanning and the print quality is good. Setting it up on the network was easy. It also updates the bios when first installed so that's good.

My reason for not giving it five starts is that the product requires multiple steps to print in black and white. First you have to go to printer properties, select color, choose gray scale, uncheck auto color management and then choose none for the color options. The defaults don't get saved so these steps are required every time. Forget any of these steps and the color toner is used. HP should definitely make the black and white option available as a default.

If anyone has found a way around this I'd be very interested.

  • Paper handling: 250-sheet input tray, 75-sheet output tray

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. HP OJ 7610 Wireless Color Printer Scanner Copier Fax
I suspect this is a brand new product. It arrived in record time, in perfect condition. It was easy to unpack, assemble and set up. I connected via USB port with no problem. The quality of print is exceptional and the printer has had no problem interfacing with my computer and the stuff in there from my previous HP printer (a 6-year-old dinosaur). The color is excellent. It does a great job on photos, spreadsheets, you name it. I also like the energy efficiency of this printer. So far, it does not seem to be an ink hog. The start-up cartridges did actually give me the number of copies estimated. This little guy is a real workhorse. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a great printer for home or small office. It also does just fine on heavy paper, card stock and regular 20 lb paper. What's not to like???
Just for the record, I don't do tablets, i-anything, berries or wireless whatevers; just straight-ahead slow mo dial-up. Yeah, there's still a few of us out there.

2. 7610 potential issue to watch for
My new 7610 seems to do everything right except print on 4x6" label stock. It starts printing way up off the top of the page. If you have a 7610, maybe you should check it with 4x6" paper. It may be a design defect, or it may be that my unit is defective. I don't know yet.

The user's manual for this unit is in the Help file on the enclosed disk, which you can copy to your hard drive and place an icon on your desktop.

The help section of HP's website is a disaster. Links that don't work, search feature that is nearly useless.

Edit 9/24/13: I got a replacement 7610. It also can't print on 4x6". So I will try an Epson WF-7510.

If you want to preserve your sanity, don't call HP tech support. Just return your printer to the retailer.

Edit 9/26/13: The Epson WF-7510 prints 4x6" labels perfectly. I never heard back from HP tech support. It's been 4 days since they "escalated" my issue.

The creme dela creme of printers
This is my first printer and it is amazing! I don't know why I waited this long, but I've been missing out.

This wireless printer does it all, its prints (obviously) but its also makes copies scans and faxes. I use to have to go to one place for printing, scanning, and making copies then go to a completely different place to fax. However now I can do it all at home which saves time and money.

This is a printer that doesn't print front and back which is no big deal for this family. With all the included instructions and material set up was a breeze ( and I'm not super tech savy). The included ink is a huge bonus that way I was able to make sure it was working properly.

The pricing on the ink doesn't seem to bad, especially considering all the money ill save from being able to do any paper work I need at home.

Being able to print from your smartphone or tablet is a huge plus which I can see will come in quiet handy in the future...

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Smell
The printer works great via USB and Network. Feels a little slower then the purported 42PPM but the fact that's its quieter kind of makes up for it. But the "feature" that stands out the most and we can't get over, is its very strong odor emanating from the machine while it prints. I hope it had nothing to do with the Particle Emission Characteristics of toners but it happens regardless if you are printing one page or a large batch, the smell is very pronounced. The best description of the smell, is a strong chemical smell. I believe it's generated when the toner is being fused to the paper. We are only using the ORIGINAL toner that arrived with the printer and we tried Staples copy paper and the higher end Hammermill Paper and both samples produced the same results. So definitely from the toner or printer and not the paper When we called HP support, they sounded very surprised and indicated NO odor at all should be present and to return the printer but I think it's model...

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great for the price
Having grown tired of finding my 2 inkjet printers dead because of dried up ink, I bought one of these from the HPStore.com for the same $239 it is a Amazon today. I received it yesterday and so far so good.

Wireless setup requires connection with a USB cable. The wireless on the printer picks up twice as many neighboring access points as my Thinkpad, so it's pretty sensitive. It's a little noisy when printing or calibrating and not particularly speedy. I'm sharing it for home use with my wife - our "small workgroup". The print quality is excellent and what little graphics I've done look good. The starter cartridges say they're good for "> 600 pages", but the predicted page count will self-adjust depending on your usage patterns.

Four replacement toner cartridges cost more than the printer does, but even if you throw it away after the starter toner runs out, it still works out to about 40 cents per page, which is in the ballpark for supplies for some other color...

2. Simply amazing
I'm an IT consultant with 23 years of experience, 6 years on the Mac and Microsoft and Apple certified. My ~10 year old Epson inkjet finally had enough so I went to hp.com to find a highly rated color laser. Wasn't even looking for ePrint, though I knew it was recently released and would be great for the future and my iOS devices.

After coming across this new model, I was pleasantly surprised at the price of $239 ($60/20% off list). Online reviews were mixed as usual - I paid no attention to the negative reviews, warnings about using it with a Mac or that ePrint doesn't work yet - as they say, "your mileage may vary". Prices at HP, Amazon and retail were all the same so after finding out it was in stock at my local Staples, I went out and got one.

Now I'm a huge fan of HP and recommend their printers to all my clients. This machine again shows me why. Simple setup and installation (used Ethernet), amazing quality AND ePRINT! I've installed the printer on...

Very Impressed
When Office Max had it for $240 Thanksgiving weekend, I just had to replace my 9 year old HP 1200 monochrome laser printer. The old HP ran like a champ, but I could not pass up the chance to move to color.

Setup was a breeze over my ethernet using my old Mac running Leopard. I rated the documentation as good, as I only used the quick set up guide and did not dig into the details, but the manual looks comprehensive. I did (and suggest) to skip the enclosed driver CD and go right to HP.com and get the latest drivers and firmware. This made the printer work with Apple's new airprint. I can print from my iPad and iPhone via my home wireless network. I didn't even have to set up the wireless printing on the printer. This is fine because my home network has a greater range in the house than the printer.

Print quality is great: "dang near photo" quality. I would still send my 4x6 prints to Walgreens to be printed on nice glossy paper.

Each toner in the old...

1. HP LaserJet 500 Color Printer
What I offer here is more of a "first impression" after having printed only 545 pages on my new HP LaserJet 500 color M551n printer. I can say that so far, the HP has performed flawlessly. This is a very nice, very well constructed, solid (and heavy) color laser printer. So let me give you some specifics.

Going from the box to your point-of-use is not going to be easy. This is a heavy printer (75 pounds but it feels heavier) and most people will want or need someone to help them move it. I helped the delivery driver take it off the truck and walk it into my garage. My wife then helped me get it out of the box and from there I slowly and laboriously carried the printer up to my office. Once in place though, you'll be printing in no time.

Setting up, and connecting to, this printer was easy. I have it installed on my network. I use Windows 7 Home Premium. Between my operating system and the HP software the printer is recognized without any difficulty. The software...

2. Rotation and Customer Support - MEH - Updated
Background:

I purchased this enterprise printer as a replacement for an older LaserJet 3600n that was approaching end of life. I have two of those with one still in service and have found them reliable. We use these printers in a small office with 3 people, and periodically print large documents - 1000 pages or more.

The Good:

The new printer is certainly easy to install and prints like the wind. Print speed is awesome and the paper drawer takes an entire ream at once, also a major convenience. Lovely print quality too. A further benefit is that the toner cartridges are significantly physically smaller than the ones for the 3600n, saving storage space (I keep two sets on hand).

The Bad:

We often print documents that contain both landscape and portrait pages. It is mandated by our clients (and regulatory agencies who receive our end product) that when put into binders the landscape pages be oriented with the header at the spine of...

Printer for all reasons
I wanted to order some color flyers for the launching of my new business. All directions were going to cost more for shipping to Alaska than the printing of the flyers. However, after reaching commercial tech support they guided me to a missed shipping tab that when removed made my printer work perfectly. The color is amazing, the ease of use is great. I love HP printers and this color laserjet is no exception. I highly recommend it.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. super fast and so far dependable
We have only had this product a little over a month, but the speed is amazing. It replaced another hp workhorse. So far, so good.

2. High quality versatile workhorse
We've been using this printer for about four months now printing invoices and postage for shipments. We loaded up 6x9 heavy catalog envelopes in tray one, 200 full sheet labels in tray two (holds 500 sheets of paper but labels are way thicker) and 500 sheets of standard letter paper in tray three. We assigned the media to the different types of postage in our Pitney Bowes shipping manager and we haven't had to mess with a thing since.

With 12,500 pages in the toner cartridge and the huge trays it's a long time between reloads and we haven't had a single jam, warning or error so far.

Excellent business printer
We purchased this printer for our work. It comes with two trays that fit 500 sheets per tray, even though the photo only shows the printer with one tray. I was worried that I was only buying the printer with one tray, but I researched it and the product number matched the two tray model. So I was relieved when it was the model with two trays. It is very fast and prints well. Setup was easy. We ended up buying 9 of these printers and it was well worth the money. This printer is a work horse. Was delivered very fast. Amazon had the cheapest price on these printers when I was looking.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great printer for seminary (graduate school)!
I'm a seminary student at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. We write many many papers for our classes. I needed a laser printer as my old HP LaserJet 1100, which in "computer years" was 100 years old, was about to give up the ghost.

But I really wanted color because I'm a visual learner and utilize charts and other colorful tools for my Greek and Hebrew and other classes. And, note that from a "cost-per-page" standpoint, lasers just about always beat inkjets, sometimes significantly.

Enter the HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw. I first spotted it at an Office supply store. It has a relatively small footprint compared to the other models. I looked at reviews here on Amazon and found that the only real problem with this printer is speed. And for me, that is not a problem at all. Also, some folks suggest this unit is not a great photo printer, and I would agree with that as far as it goes. But please note that generally speaking, Laser Printers are not interested in...

2. Great inkjet replacement
Our family has been using the CP1025nw for nearly two months now and so far it has printed flawlessly. The size and price of color lasers have come down to the point where they are viable alternatives to color ink jets. We finally got fed up with our relatively new ink jet due to clogged print heads, streaking, wet smears, wrinkled paper and poor color saturation esp. when the kids were attempting (unsuccessfully) to print their homework assignments at the last minute before rushing off to school.

When it comes to care free operation with sharp, clean edges on text and line drawings, this laser performs far better then any ink jet we have used. The toner lasts and lasts (but it is also more costly to replace). The B&W dpi is 600x600 and the color dpi is 2400 but not quite photo quality. It's perfectly acceptable for one-off school projects, web printing and low-volume runs of color newsletters, announcements and small-business marketing materials where color accuracy isn't...

A FIne Printer
I bought the CP1025nw in early December. I use a MacBook (which runs OS 10.5.8) with Airport and a Cisco Linksys broadband G router.

I used the CD provided for installation and found it to be a straightforward process with no bloatware. There was one complicated step when I had to create a print queue, but I figured it out on my own: not HP's fault. The wireless set up works well from any point in my apartment (max. 30 feet or so from the printer.)

I print relatively infrequently (maybe a few pages each day) so I didn't want an inkjet whose nozzles would dry up. This laser printer has good color, a fast response time and print time. Black and white text looks especially good. As with any color printer, the paper you use affects print quality as much as the printer itself.

I have not had to change a toner cartridge but expect no difficulties if I follow the instructions provided.

I also need to connect the printer to my HP Pavilion...

  • Monthly Volume (Duty Cycle): Up to 40,000 pages

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great Printer Quality
The HP Color LaserJet Pro 400 (M451dw) is a printer that has it all. It produces terrific quality prints, at least for a laser printer.

Its key features is that it is wireless and does double-sided printing automatically. You can place the printer anywhere in your home or office and it will print beautiful copies. It uses 4 toners that print up to 2600 pages for color or up to 4000 pages for black with its high yield toner.

My previous printer was the C P2025dn which I owned for 3-1/2 years and never had a problem with, except for 2 jams in its 46,000 page run. I find that amazing! Yes, jams are easy to correct by popping open the rear of the printer.

I only have 3 negative concerns. This printer comes with 4 starter cartridges that print only 1400 pages each. When you are paying close to $500 for a printer, wouldn't you think that they would include full cartridges? The previous model noted above did come with full toners. Of course, HP does...

2. Great printer for the home office and more!
I just purchased this printer through Amazon and received it today. I can't tell you how easy it was to set it up. Also, I had it connected correctly to my home network in about 2 minutes. I am using it with my iMac, and print successfully from my iPhone and iPad. It's quiet, fast also and the quality is nothing short of outstanding. For the size, which easily fits on my credenza, it is unsurpassed in print quality for brochures, general graphics, and text. I couldn't be happier with this HP quality product.

Simple to install
I purchased the HP M451DQ Laser Jet Pro 400 color wireless photo printer from Amazon, after reviewing other manufacturers and reading reviews of various items carefully. I selected the HP line because of excellent product experience at my various businesses. The laser printers, in particular, have been quite robust and provide years of trouble free service. i required a wireless application, to enable use throughout my office area. I was a little leary of the M451DW at first, since a fair number of reviews indicated that connectivity was an issue. Since i have a mix of MacBooks, PCs, iPhones and iPads at the office, I was a bit worried about this. No need, when I set up the machine and turned it on, I simply plugged it into my server, and off it went, for all of my "computers." I can now print from iPads, iPhones, MacBooks, and PCs. Amazing! The reason for the 4 star rating rather than 5 star is that the product shipped without full ink cartridges, and I did not see any...

  • Reduce energy use by 19 to 66 percent by setting the Auto-On/Auto-Off mode.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Heavy duty fast laser color printer.
I bought this printer from a wholesale dealer. I've been using it for 3 months now.
This is M551DN model. It supports duplex print (printing on both sides)

The box in which it came is huge. A grown adult can easily fit there and play jokes or scare people. Kids will love it. lol.

Any hoo, the printer is a little heavy. If you have a bad back or are not very strong I recommend you move it with the help of some one. Make sure you put this printer in a very sturdy table or desk.

Out of the box the printer has all of it's toners (both black and color) pre-installed and ready to go. All you have to do is remove the security tapes and you're done preparing the hardware. Installing paper is also very easy. Everything feels robust and looks like it will last very long.

When you first turn it on, the printer goes trough a series of tests and boot sequences. It takes a couple of minutes for this. Actually, the boot up is pretty slow even after...

2. Excellent value
I purchased the M551dn after a lot of comparison with the HP 451dn. In the end there was no comparison. Based on OEM toner prices the difference in price between these two printers is close to the difference in toner supplied (1500 p vs 6000 p cartridges) so that by the time you have printed 6000 pages the cost of the printers+toner is nearly equal. Further, based on OEM toner prices and 25,000 pages, the 551 is $1500 less expensive to operate than the 451 - about $0.06 per page cheaper. As added pluses: the 551 has 1 GB of memory vs 256 Mb, 1200x1200 resolution vs 600x600, is significantly faster, holds more paper, etc., etc. It took less than 5 minutes to have it running on my three macs. Print quality is excellent, even if you are on the default 600x600 output, n.b. you have to change the default to get 1200x1200. Quality was significantly better than the HP CP3505 I was using previously. If you are looking for a high quality color laser printer with low operating costs...

Very Solid Small Biz Printer
If you are looking for a color laser with a lot more muscle than your standard home printer and have the budget, the HP M551 series is a great choice. Adding the duplex option is not a luxury and works extremely well with all of the paper that we have including 80# stock. Toner cartridges have good life and can be refilled if you choose bringing the cost per page down dramatically.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Easy setup & good value for the money
I got this printer a couple weeks ago from HP's online store, and I'm quite pleased overall.

FYI, I'm using this with two Win7 64bit PCs and an Actiontec router which is supplied by Verizon FiOS.

PROS
- I won't mention the obvious features, as they're easy enough to spot reading the main description of the printer and looking at the pictures.
- It's very well packed! I doubt the standard "fling it up there on the porch" approach that some delivery guys take would hurt this thing.
- Comes with a (short) USB cable where most printers these days do not. Since I hoped to use it wirelessly, it was nice to have a cable included for initial setup rather than buying one separate. See the cons below for more info on the USB cable.
- Setup in Win7 64bit was a breeze! I just followed the directions. That got the wireless part setup. From there, my other Win7 64bit PC easily found it on the network. Now they can both print to it.
- It...

2. Really Inexpensive to Print if you buy generic cartridges
I do tons of printing for work and really needed to buy a laser printer that had a really low cost per page. I researched monochrome laser printers for a couple of weeks before buying this one and I really like this one, it is my first laser printer and much cheaper per page than any inkjet. I actually based my decision on the cost of the toner cartridges. HP's toner cartridges are expensive, but the 85A has been out for a while and there are some really inexpensive and good quality generic cartridges 2 Pack: Compatible HP CE285A Laser Toner Cartridges. I purchased a pack of 2 for about $25 and when I installed it the printer recognized it as genuine hp. The printer is a bit loud but I can live with that. It prints bout three to three and a half reams of paper with the starter cartridge. In my opinion you can't go wrong with this printer. It has a document feeder which can scan to pdf, one of the functions that I...

Great Printer
I decided to go with a laserjet after my HP inkjet wouldn't print black/white documents because a color cartridge was empty.

Setup with the printer was very easy and no CD is required. It comes with a 3' USB cable and you just connect it to the PC and a dialog box asks which type of install you would like to perform (wired network, direct USB connection, or wireless). I did the wireless connection- so I had to enter in the password for the printer to get on which is all configured through the PC. Overall, the total install and setup took about 10 minutes.

I did change the amount of time for the printer to enter the sleep mode. The default was 15 minutes and I changed it to 5 since I don't print as often. You change this by right clicking on the printer and going to the properties menu on your PC.

For printing, the text is very clear. Images are pretty good as well. I printed directions and maps and from google and everything looked clear. I love...

  • Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port; WiFi 802.11 b/g
  • 3 LED indicator lights; 2 buttons
  • 100-sheet face-down bin, 100 sheets output tray

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Quick, Reliable, Compatible
I purchased this printer through a local retailer and was debating between the HP and a similarly priced wireless printer from Brother. The replacement toner cartridges are a bit more for the HP, but then again, they come with the drum assembly built in. This greatly reduces maintenance and potential hardware failures.

Setup:
As for setup, under Windows it's a snap. Put the CD in and follow the directions.

Under Linux (I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx)) the install was easy. I visited [...] web site and downloaded the drivers. From there, I just followed the directions on the web page and it works like a charm.

I've not used it with a Mac, but I did note that OSX is listed on the box.

Printer quality:
As for the printer itself. It has a very small footprint on the desk when the paper trays are not extended, and a small one when they are. It has excellent monochrome print quality and is very fast. As with all laser...

2. Printing on Both Sides
Although this printer has many laudable features, it has a significant problem that potential purchasers should be aware of.

I purchased this printer for school. I often print papers of 40-90 pages in length. I thought I would be able to use the printer's manual duplexing feature to help me save paper by printing on both sides. The HP software makes this easy. It will first print the even-numbered pages, then you just put the pages back in the paper bin, and it prints the odd-numbered pages on the reverse side. And you use only half the paper. Unfortunately, with the longer papers, something goes wrong when it pulls in the paper to print the odd-numbered pages. The pages stick together, and I end up with a paper where the pages are badly out of order. So much so that the document is unusable. So, it ends up wasting a lot of paper and toner. And it seems the longer the document, the more likely it is to be a problem.

And it's really too bad because the product is...

Here's How to Set it Up for a Mac (If Needed)
At my house in the country my deskjet printers got so little use that they were dried up when I did need them, so when I saw this Laserjet for $99 I jumped on it. The toner cartridges can be pricey at $65 or so, but it's cheaper than replacing dried up deskjet cartridges for me, and I don't need to print color.

Considering that in the early 1990s when the first home laserjet from HP sold for just under $1,100, and business models sold for about $3,500, this still seems like a bargain to me.

It also works well (and better than my wireless Lexmark printer that lasted all of two months, and that wouldn't print anything if any of the cartridges were empty (if one color was gone, you couldn't even print black).

Here's how to install the printer on a Mac with OS X (10.6) (if needed):

1. Click Finder on the Dock
2. Click APPLICATIONS under PLACES
3. Click SYSTEM PREFERENCES

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. A really great printer for home or office!
I recently talked my employer into purchasing this printer for me to replace a very old, very slow HP LaserJet that was seemingly first made when dinosaurs roamed the earth (circa 2005 AD). I used the online ratings to choose it, and I'm so glad I did!

So far, it has been great. It is very fast; the first sheet prints out in less than 10 seconds. The color is beautiful... photos print out rich and life-like. There is a setting to lessen paper curl, which was a real problem with my old printer. It easily handles manual feeds for labels, envelopes and the like (load face up and top forward). And, best of all, it features automatic two-sided duplexing (important for printing double sided newsletters or other marketing materials). In summary, it's everything I wanted in my new printer!

That being said, there is one thing to note, however... it was a complete BEAR to install. Initially, I called my IT company to install the driver from the website (yes, there was a...

2. Great Printer for ePrint and Apple AirPrint
I was recently introduced to the function of AirPrinting with our iPads and iPhones. As soon as I saw how easy and functional it was, I had to have a printer that was capable of performing. After some extensive research and checking out many different models, I made the plunge to get this printer. We use both Macs and PC's in our home and found that it was a little difficult to get the printer setup initially with the Mac but once we set it up with the PC, it took about 15 minutes. There's also a really easy to use "ePrint" app that you can get from the Apple Store which allows you to print anything remotely from your phone. Finally, you can even setup an email address where anyone can print to your printer if they send an attachment to your email address setup for printing.

All in all, a good printer. I would have given it 5 stars if I could have set it up with the Mac and saved 30 minutes but all in all, a good experience.

Be careful
This printer worked great, except it wasn't what I expected. The other review on this product talks about auto duplexing. THIS PRINTER DOES NOT AUTO DUPLEX. You're looking for the DW model if you want the auto duplexing.

Other than that, it's a solid printer that prints fast and easily connects to a wireless network. Be sure to look around online for installing instructions of the software though - you need to disable the auto-install feature of the printer because the pre-installed software on the printer itself is corrupted from what I understand.

HP LaserJet Pro 400 Printer M401dw (CF285A)

Cheap HP LaserJet Pro 400 Printer M401dw (CF285A)

Single Function Mono Printer 33ppm A4/35ppm letter duplexer and 10/100/1000 Gigabit touch screen control panel
  • Use business apps and the 3.5-inch (8.89 cm) color touchscreen to access and print from the Web.
  • Set up and share anywhere in the office with wireless connectivity. Print from virtually anywhere, using HP ePrint, and with AirPrint™ you can simply print wirelessly from your iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.
  • Save money by saving energy—HP Auto-On/Auto-Off Technology powers your printer up and down automatically.
  • Install your printer fast—there's no CD required with HP Smart Install.
  • Use the easy-access USB port to print from a flash drive.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Fast and simple to operate
HP provides a set of pictures to illustrate the setting up of the printer. I would have preferred words to go with the pictures. I have connected the printer to my LAN for top speed. The printer is very fast. Probably most of the printing time will be consumed by the PC because the printer only needs about a second per page. It appears necessary to use the CD provided by HP to set up the driver. I use the printer in connection with 6 PCs, 2 running Windows XP and 4 running 64 bit Windows 7. I had to use the HP CD to set up each one rather than simply adding a driver using Windows.

My HP Laserjet 4 broke after 20 years of use. I paid $1400 for it. I asked a repair firm about selecting a new printer. He said not to buy cheap printers but to invest in one that will last a long time. I can see that this is a quality unit that will also last a long time. Print quality is excellent, it handles a variety of paper sizes and prints on both sides of a sheet of paper...

2. Very quick, both in setup and performance
This printer has worked out fantastically with regards to being a wireless laser printer. Setup was a dream, and network integration is a cinch.

I do agree with the review above about the screen being fragile (very accurate, a misguided swing of the hand will have it cracked no problem). Honestly, though, once you get it set up the screen becomes rather useless, so folding it down is no big deal for me, as long as pages come out I am content.

It has been difficult to find a decent laser printer that supports wireless encryption, but this is an excellent choice if you want an uncomplicated, straightforward install.

Great to Setup and Get Printing
Took the LJ Pro 400M401dw printer out of the box, powered it up, and connected it via RJ45 cable to my wireless router. It pulled an IP address automatically with no problem. Then I went to my desktop, an older Dell XP box and added it as a printer. This box is cable-connected to my wireless router. I used the "local printer attached to this computer" option with "automatically detect and install my PNP printer". Worked great. Told it I had the disk. Gave it the disk drive letter and it quickly installed. I installed it as "shared" on my network. First test page was fast and accurate. Then I went to my iPad, went into my word processing program, opened a file and selected print. The iPad saw the printer, I selected it, and again a nice fast print. Wife did the same thing with her Mac laptop. Lastly, I tried it with a Win 8 laptop. It found the printer immediately and didn't need to download a driver for it. Worked great. The iPad, Mac laptop, and Win 8 Laptop all connect...

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Excellent printer - download the latest firmware, set the printer to Quiet Mode & create a new default printing shortcut
Update 2/1/2013: Today Windows Update installed driver 61.93.2.77 dated 4/15/2010. It's a version of the clunk driver that existed under Vista and Windows 7 rather than the improved driver that initially installed with Windows 8. You can't set the printer to print at ProRes 1200 (1200 x 1200) at all times. Instead, it defaults to FastRes 1200 (600 x 600 with enhancements to make it look better).

I created customized 1-sided and 2-sided definitions as follows: Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printer > HP Laserjet P2055dn. Click Customize Your Printer > Preferences. Click General Everyday Printing under Printing Shortcuts. Then click Paper/Quality and select ProRes 1200. Click Printing Shortcuts, then Save As... and save your setting as "1-sided". Do the same for Two-sided (Duplex) Printing and save your new definition as "2-sided". Use these shortcuts to print to avoid the substandard default print quality.

2. [Updated Sep 2013] Works great connected to an Airport Express and a Mac running OS X Leopard (10.5.6)
Got this printer to replace my year-and-a-half-old, out-of-warranty HP LaserJet P2015d (which, like many, many printers of that model, developed a fatal formatter board problem). The P2055dn, like the P2015d, works great with my Macs and printing wirelessly while connected to an Airport Express, and directly via USB.

Because my P2015d died prematurely, and because the problem with that model was widespread and widely documented, I purchased a 3-year extended service plan from HP (hpshopping.com, HP product #UK929A) for around 60 USD, which essentially extends the warranty two years beyond the included one-year warranty. I'd recommend anyone buying a P-series LaserJet get an extended service plan: these printers work great, but are built somewhat cheaply, using lower-quality materials than HP's top-of-the line, business-oriented laser printers costing 1000 USD and up.

It's a shame to reward HP for their poor craftsmanship by buying another one from them, but for...

Great product - even greater customer support (surprisingly)!
Chose to buy this printer for the following reasons: (1) Tired of replacing inkjet cartridges (2) Built in networking (3) Automatic duplex printing to save paper and (4) Didn't care for color (since 90% of the time, we manually adjust print jobs to do B/W anyways) - not to mention replacing ink/toner is ALOT cheaper!

Product was extremely easy to install and set up. Was worried about the noise level after reading reviews, but after having used it for myself, noise level does not bother me since it is completely silent on ready/standby and we'd choose quicker noisier printing over slower quieter printing any day. We were quite happy with our purchase for the first several print jobs - the problem came after we tried to manually feed an envelope. Every time we tried to print afterwards, we'd get an error saying to clear a jam on tray 2. Obviously, we knew that there wasn't a jam because the envelope got printed (quite well, btw) and there were no jams prior to that (we...
